Pioneer DVD114 Firmware
This is a new firmware revision for the Pioneer DVD-114 DVD-ROM drive. This release is intended for users who have trouble changing their DVD region from 1 to 2, while using a multi-region DVD-ROM. In such situations Zoran SoftDVD indicates that the DVD-ROM drive is set to region 1, while it is actually already set to region 2. When trying to change the DVD region, a DVD-ROM that supports the selected region is required. Multi-region DVD-ROMs are not accepted for changing to another DVD region.
Flashing your Pioneer DVD-114 DVD-ROM drive to firmware version 1.32 will fix this situation in most cases. However, we did not thoroughly test this firmware upgrade on large numbers of DVD-ROM drives. If this flash procedure does not fix the situation described above, you may choose to insert a DVD-ROM that only supports DVD region 2. A so-called single-region DVD-ROM usually allows you to change your DVD region without problems.
