This firmware upgrade is for firmware versions below A300 of the LG Branded GSA-4040B DVD-Writer Drives.

The ROM version is stamped on the top of the drive below the serial number.

This upgrade is not designed for drives manufactured HP, IBM, Compaq, Dell or any other OEM

{Original Equipment Manufacturer} customers, please contact the OEM for all firmware updates

and support for your OEM drive.

Please follow the hardware setup instructions below.

1.Have the GSA-4040B connected to the secondary IDE channel as a master drive alone.

2.Do not touch or interfere with the drive while the FIRMWARE is being upgraded.

3.If an error occurs during the upgrade process, or the upgrade process is cancelled

during this process, damage to the drive can occur. This is your responsibility.

To upgrade Windows XP, 2000, ME and 98(only windows mode)

1. Remove inserted disc in CD-RW Drive and Connect to only master of seconary port.

2. Download the GSA-4040BA300(EW).zip file and Extract the zip file to the folder(ex: c:\>temp)

3. Check the Execution file and TXT file[GSA4040A300.EXE & README(ew).TXT]

4. Excute to GSA4040A300.exe

eg: c:\temp\>GSA4040A300.EXE(Double click) And click 'Update' button.

And then Firmware upgrade will be automatically started

IMPORTANT- DO NOT INTERFERE WITH THE DRIVE DURING THIS PROCESS.

When the UPGRADE is complete the screen should indicate FIRMWARE UPDATE SUCCESSFUL.

Re-boot your PC.

NOTICE

1.You have to GSA-4040B connect to secondary master alone.

2.Don't touch while F/ware upgrading

3.If it happen to problem when you upgrade to F/ware,it is that your responsibility.

Because of you are mistake F/Ware upgrade
